Nabion® is an innovative phosphate-free detergent builder developed by Humens for laundry detergents and automatic dishwashing detergents. Designed as a sustainable alternative to STPP (sodium tripolyphosphate), it enhances the performance of modern builder systems by working synergistically with MGDA, citrate, and other chelating technologies.
By improving the efficiency of these systems, Nabion® allows formulators to significantly reduce the dosage of expensive raw materials while maintaining or even improving cleaning performance. The result is a more competitive formulation with an optimized cost-to-performance ratio.
Nabion® combines several essential builder functions in a single ingredient. It efficiently sequesters calcium and magnesium ions responsible for water hardness, provides high alkalinity, disperses mineral deposits to minimize limescale formation, and helps protect equipment against corrosion. These combined properties deliver excellent cleaning performance, even in hard water and at low washing temperatures.
Manufactured in France at the Novabion production site, Nabion® is produced from naturally sourced sodium carbonate and sodium silicate derived from limestone, salt, and sand. The manufacturing process ensures consistent quality, high purity, and full traceability. Ecocert certified, Nabion® helps detergent manufacturers develop phosphate-free and EDTA-free formulations that comply with evolving environmental regulations while benefiting from dedicated formulation support from Humens experts.
